In the frame of BSB27 Monitox project, Partner 2 – Institute of Zoology, Chisinau, organized in the period 16-17 May 2019 a Cross-border Regional Workshop "Environmental Pollution of Aquatic Ecosystems of Danube-Black Sea Basin".

The topics discussed in the workshop are as follows:

Methodological aspects of complex ecotoxicological investigations of transboundary aquatic ecosystems in Republic of Moldova; Classes of toxic substances investigated in the frame of MONITOX project. Radioactive isotopes and level of nuclear radiation doses in Lower Danube region and Black Sea Basin; Emerging persistent pollutants in aquatic ecosystems – pharmaceutical compounds; Evaluation of aquatic ecosystems based on microbiological parameters; Environmental challenges in Nestos river and delta – Northen Greece; The study of toxic organic substances in aquatic and agricultural systems in the Republic of Moldova: persistent pesticides, PCBs, PAHs; Seasonal dynamics of nutrient concentrations in surface waters from the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve.
