MONITOX interdisciplinary network, composed of: „Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati (Lider Partner) and the partner institutions – Institute of Zoology, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova; Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology, Kavala, Greece; Institute of Geology and Seismology Chisinau, Republic of Moldova and Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development, Tulcea, Romania – organises on 2nd of November 2018 the launching seminar of the project code eMS BSB 27,entitled „Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances and public exposure prevention” - MONITOX.
The event will take place at „Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, 111 Domneasca St., Galati, Faculty of Sciences and Environment, S Building, Room SB401, on 02.11.2018 starting with 11.30 AM. A press conference is scheduled for the same date, at 8:30 AM, in Room SB304.
The project is financed by the European Union through European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI) - Cross-border cooperation (CBC) - in the frame of theJoint Operational Programme BLACK SEA BASIN 2014-2020, Priority 2 – Promote coordination of environmental protection and joint reduction of marine litter in the Black Sea Basin, Specific Objective 2.1 – Improve joint environmental monitoring, and has an implementation period of 30 months (20.09.2018-19.03.2021). The total budget of the project is 952,583.55 EURO, of which the contribution of European Union is 876,576.85 EURO.
The target group of the seminar is formed by: members of the project research team, academic staff, researchers, technicians, PhD students, master and undergraduate students, representatives of local authorities and experts in environmental and health issues. At the event will be present specialists from Romania, Republic of Moldova and Greece.
